A thousand dreams you gave to meA thousand dreams you gave to me
You held me high you held me high
And all those years you guided me
So I could find my way
How long your love had sheltered me
You held me high you held me high
A harbour holding back the sea
So I could find my waySo I could find my way
So let me give this dream to youSo let me give this dream to you
Upon another shore
So let me give this dream to you
Each night and ever more

You held me high you held me high
Yet only time keeps us apartYet only time keeps us apart
You held me high you held me high
You're in the shadows of my heart
So I can find my way
So let me give this dream to you
Upon another shore
So let me give this dream to you
Each night and ever moreEach night and ever more
A thousand dreams you gave to me
You held me high you held me high
And all those years you guided meAnd all those years you guided me
So I could find my way

So I could find my way

Enya's interview, Nov 2, 2015

"So I could find my way, this is a song I dedicated to Nicky's mother. When I moved to Dublin to work with Nicky and Roma, I got to know her very well. Mona was her name and she passed away a few years ago. I got very close to her. On writing the melody, I felt it was appropriate to dedicate the song to her. It's a slow melody, very emotional. This is something that is quite universal when the mother moves on. You think about what she left behind in your life. That's what you'll always remember. What her stories were, what she was hoping for you. It's really that she was hoping you find your way (hence) so I could find my way".
