Final Fantasy VII Advent Children movie is a 2005 CGI film directed by Tetsuya Nomura and Takeshi Nozue and produced by Yoshinori Kitase and Shinji Hashimoto. Final Fantasy VII Advent Children movie is based on a Kazushige Nojima'story about Cloud, Tifa and the kids. Visual Works picked Final Fantasy VII as the theme for a presentation that they were going to create. Advent Children was originally going to be a game sequel, but Nomura stated that it was not possible due to a number of factors. However, the development team decided to stick with the original plan and work on it as a movie production. Although Nomura insisted that he very much liked the original script, as it became the foundation for the theme of the final result of the movie, he decided to make the project more grand in scope because early word of this movie generated so much interest. The creators of the film had no prior knowledge of how to make a movie, and it was based on their knowledge of in-game movies. The film is based on the highly successful 1997 console role-playing game Final Fantasy VII.

QuotesOpening line: To those who loved this world and knew friendly company therein. This reunion is for you. Marlene Wallace: There was one SOLDIER named Sephiroth, who was better than the rest. But when he found out about the terrible experiments that made him, he began to hate Shinra. And then, over time, he began to hate everything. Shinra, and the people against them. Sephiroth, who hated the planet so much that he wanted to make it go away. And the people who tried to stop him. There were a lot of battles. For every battle, there was more sadness. Someone I loved went back to the lifestream too. And then it came; the chosen day. In the end, the planet itself had to make the battle stop for good. The planet used the lifestream as a weapon and when it burst out of the earth, all the fighting, all the greed and sadness, everything was washed away. Sadness was the price to see it end. Kadaj: Brother! I'm with her at last. Cloud: So what's gonna happen now? Kadaj: Mother's going to tell me. Cloud: I guess a remnant wouldn't really know. Kadaj: So what if I'm a puppet? Once upon a time. Aerith Gainsborough: You came. Even though you're about to break. That's a good sign. Yazoo: Hey Kadaj, is that where big brother lives? Kadaj: Yeah. Yazoo: Do you think he will be glad to see us? Kadaj: Not a chance. Loz: Don't cry, Yazoo. Marlene Wallace: Does Cloud live here? Tifa Lockhart: I guess he does. Cloud: I was right. I'm no good to anyone. Vincent. What do you know about this? Vincent Valentine: I come here often. Vincent Valentine: The stigma... it's a symptom of alien matter infesting the body. When it tries to eliminate it, it overcompensates. Inside our bodies there's a current, like the Lifestream. That current is what fights off any malevolent intruders. Cloud: Tifa, I'm not fit to help anyone. Not my family, not my friends, nobody. Tifa Lockhart: Dilly-dally, shilly-shally! Reno: I think she wants you to move on, man. Tifa Lockhart: Two years ago, think of the strength we all had when we fought that last battle. It's only been a couple of years, but already that feeling is gone. But Cloud, I think he's found it again. Yuffie Kisaragi: What? I don't get it! Why can't we help out? Cid Highwind: This is Man Talk. Yuffie Kisaragi: Sexist! Cloud: Stay where you belong; in my memories! Sephiroth: I will... never be a memory! Rude: Shinra technology at its finest. Reno: Oh, so you made it? Rude: If nothing else, it's flashy. Cloud: I only came for the kids. Kadaj: See this man? He's our big brother. But alaso, in our happy flock, he's what you'd call a "Black Sheep." Rufus Shinra: The Lifestream courses through our Planet back and forth across the borders of life and death. If that cycle is the very truth of life then history, too, will inevitably repeat itself. So go on - bring your Jenovas and your Sephiroths. Kadaj: Please, sir, is that your excuse for going after Mother yourself? You don't seem all that sorry. Rufus Shinra: Sorry? Why, I've never had this much fun. |
CommentsSephiroth's sword is called the "Masamune". Vincent's three-barreled handgun is named Cerberus. Kadaj's weapon is named the "Souba". Loz's weapon is named the "Dual Hound". Yazoo's weapon is named the "Velvet Nightmare". Cloud's sword is named the "First Tsurugi". His original "Buster Sword", given to him by Zack, is used to commemorate the spot Zack was killed. Cloud's bike is named "Fenrir". The opening scene of the movie is the closing scene of the original video game and is entitled 500 years later, the following scene in the movie is entitled 498 years previously, making the movie 2 years after the events of the video game. The planet itself is called Gaia, in mythology Gaia is the spirit of the Earth. In Norse mythology Midgard is the name of the Earth, Midgar is the biggest city on Gaia. The phone used by Cloud is a Panasonic P900iV only sold in Japan. It comes in three colors, and the black one is called "Cloud Black" after the character's name. Bahamut is a recurrent creature in the Final Fantasy series, in Final Fantasy VII (Psx) there's three of them, Bahamut, Neo Bahamut and Bahamut Zero, this time in the movie its called Bahamut Sin. Cloud uses five noticeable limit breaks from the original video game (Final Fantasy VII) in the movie. The first he uses is Blade Beam when he is fighting Loz and Yazoo at the Forgotten City. The second is Braver, when he is fighting Bahamut Sin (his sword glows blue and then he strikes). The third is Climhazzard, which is used when Cloud defeats Bahamut Sin. The Fourth is Omnislash, which Cloud used to defeat Sephiroth over Midgar. This attack is also used to defeat Sephiroth in the game. The fifth is Finishing Touch, which is used on Kadaj. This is evident by the way Cloud swings his sword and Kadaj is thrown away. |
Reviews"Graphics are brilliant, obviously. Cloud has a wide array of swords, and I kinda wish things were moving a little slower just so we could see them, because they were each incredibly detailed. Oh, and we finally get to see exactly how one equips Materia. Music is brilliant also. They changed the lyrics to One Winged Angel though, so you won't be able to sing along if you know the Carmina Burana Lyrics." "Now after watching Final Fantasy VII Advent Children movie twice, the storyline isn't as shallow as majority has criticized it to be in my opinion. If you haven't played FFVII or disliked it for whatever reason, this movie is most likely not for you. Being familiar to the original story is a prerequisite to understanding AC fully, otherwise you will just see the greatest CG animation in your life so far. We all know you can't put a FFVII in 1.5 hours and keeping that in mind the storyline actually offered more to me than I expected. There are two issues at hand in FFVII : AC and both stories were wrapped up very smoothly between the action sequences. And trust me when I say there's a lot of it. Action that is. As a warning, it's going to be easy to disregard the story and concentrate on graphics, but try not to judge the Adevent Children because of that. If you don't let the story in, it's no wonder it seems sloppy." |
