  My! My! Time flies!

A new day is on its way.

So let's let yesterday go.

Could be we step out again.

Could be tomorrow but then.

Could be 2010.
The lyrics are based on a conversation Enya, Roma and Nicky Ryan had that particular day and evolve around passing time and Jimmy's favourite music. This up-tempo song marks a slight departure from Enya's usual style as it features guitar solos performed by Pat Farrell.

Enya's new album And Winter Came will pay tribute to the late, great Irish guitarist Jimmy Faulkner in a track entitled My! My! Time Flies! The track was the last one recorded for the highly anticipated record And Winter Came, which is scheduled for release on November 7, in Ireland and November 10 in the UK. Played separately, as it had not yet been slotted into the album's running order, it is a real departure for Enya, featuring a sweet guitar solo by Dublin blues musician Pat Farrell. "His playing is great. He's another one of those unsung heroes," Nicky added. (HotPress, Oct. 2008)

"My! My! Time Flies!" may be the most interesting track on the album as it presents her music in a different light. It really is a pop tune and even features a guitar sound. I'm not sure if I would want a whole album of this type of material but it is a nice counterpoint. (Blog Critics, Nov. 2008)

My! My! Time Flies! shows off a different side of Enya's voice which is quite difficult to explain without you actually hearing the song for yourself. I suppose you could describe this song as sounding a bit Oasis-ish or similar. I know it sounds strange when talking about Enya, but this is like a warped version of an Indie song and is a great contrast to the other songs on the record, as it even features an electric guitar. (FemaleFirst, Nov. 2008)

Enya: Musically it has to be something that I'm comfortable to perform. Would we ever hear Enya with a guitar solo? I say, "Never say never." And there's a guitar solo on "My! My! Time Flies." This happened because it suited the song. It's always got to sound like me because it's my voice and there's always this little sense of melancholy that is inherent in my melodies. I think that's because of my Irish culture. (CNN, Dec. 2008)

Enya: "The important thing is that it is not being seen as a Christmas album. Warners will be releasing My! My! Time Flies! as a single in the new year, so they see this as a record that will have real sustain." (Hot Press Magazine, Dec. 2008) My! My! Time Flies! for instance, easily establishes itself as the most unique tune, safely nested deep at the end of the album's tracklist, but with an experimental nature and an unusually upbeat tempo, it is certain to perk the ears of those familiar with Enya and likely to draw in those who are not. With its curious lyrics, such as "My! My! Time flies! / One step and we're on the moon / Next step into the stars" and "Could be tomorrow but then / Could be 2010" the song points vaguely at a musical interpretation of history, but more so at Enya's own fascination with the transitory nature of life - hence her fascination with the seasons, particularly winter.
