Muk and Luk are afraid of the water. They mention that it's the reason they are shunned by the other polar bears. Even more funny is that while they are still cubs, they are utterly terrified of the grizzly bear that attacks them halfway through the first movie. In reality polar bears grow up to be much larger than grizzlies and are far more aggressive.

After gaining popularity through his success in the serum run, Balto was cast as the main character in a few of Alaska's silent films.
