Song lyrics

I see trees of green
Red roses too
I've seen them bloom
For me and you.

And I think to myself,
What a wonderful world.
I see skies of blue
And clouds of white.

The brightness of day
The dark secret night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world.

The colours of the rainbow
So pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces
Of people going by.

I see friends shaking hands
Saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying,
"I love you".

I hear babies crying
I watch them grow
They'll learn much more
Than I'll ever know.

And I think to myself
What a wonderful world.
Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world.
Oh yeah.

Notes

"What a Wonderful World" is a song written by Bob Thiele and George David Weiss. It was first recorded by Louis Armstrong and released in 1967 as a single, which topped the pop charts in the United Kingdom, though it performed poorly in the United States because Larry Newton, the president of ABC Records, disliked the song and refused to promote it.

The song was written by producer Bob Thiele and composer and performer George David Weiss which was inspired by Armstrong's ability to bring people of different races together.

Not initially a hit in the United States, the song gradually became something of a standard and reached a new level of popularity.
