Song lyrics

Drip, drip, drop Little April shower
Beating a tune as you fall all around.
Drip, drip, drop Little April shower
What can compare with your beautiful sound?
Beautiful sound, beautiful sound
Drip, drop, drip, drop.

Drip, drip, drop when the sky is cloudy
Your pretty music will brighten the day.
Drip, drip, drop when the sky is cloudy
You come along with a song right away
Come with your beautiful music.

Drip, drip, drop Little April shower
Beating a tune as you fall all around.
Drip, drip, drop Little April shower
What can compare with your beautiful sound?

Drip, drip, drop when the sky is cloudy
You come along with your pretty little song.
Drip, drip, drop when the sky is cloudy
You come along with your pretty little song.

Gay little roundelay (gay little roundelay)
Song of the rainy day (song of the rainy day).
How I love to hear your patter
Pretty little pitter patter
Helter skelter when you pelter
Troubles always seem to scatter.
Drip, drip, drop Little April shower
Beating a tune as you fall all around.
Drip, drip, drop Little April shower
What can compare with your beautiful sound?

Drip, drip, drop Little April shower
Beating a tune as you fall all around.
Drip, drip, drop Little April shower
What can compare with your beautiful sound?
Beautiful sound.

Notes

The production of the film was a slow process. Walt Disney acquired the film rights in 1937, but it took two years for the initial storyboards to develop. Production begun of August 1939, but the writing and rewriting process only ended in July, 1940. It took two more years until the film was read for release.

Castle thunder, a sound effect as a loud thunderclap during a rainstorm, is heard a few times when the storm in the song sequence is about to start. It's also heard when the storm clouds are beginning to part and the sun begins coming out.

Disney animators spent a year studying and drawing deer and fawns to perfect the look of Bambi and his parents and friends. Deer are notoriously difficult to render in human terms as their eyes are on either side of their face, their mouth does not lend itself to speech and they have no real chin.
