One night, on Christmas Eve, the handsome young prince, for his cold heart and cruelty, has been transformed by beautiful and powerful Enchantress into a terrifying beast. She also casts a ghastly curse on the entire castle, servants into anthropomorphic household objects to reflect their different personalities: Lumière, the valet was turned into a candlestick, Cogsworth the majordomo into a pendulum clock, Mrs. Potts the head housekeeper into a teapot, Webster the castle's scribe into a dictionary, Forte the composer into a pipe organ.
