Cogsworth Disney characterCogsworth is a supporting character of Disney's 1991 animated feature film Beauty and the Beast and his two sequels: Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas (1997) and Belle's Magical World (1998). After the castle was overtaken by a curse placed by a powerful enchantress, he was turned into a pendulum clock. Cogsworth is the Beast's tightly wound and extremely loyal Majordomo, and Lumière's counterpart and rival. He initially tries to stop Maurice to stay at the castle , but invite Belle to come to dinner. Later, Cogsworth participates in the battle and saves Lumière from Lefou, and with him and Mrs. Potts rush to aid the Beast who is fighting against Gaston. In the second sequel, he and Lumière try to help Belle find a Christmas tree and later, when Forte tries to destroy the castle, he attempts to save the rose. In The Perfect Word, Cogsworth unknowingly exposes everyone that the Beast's apology letter was forged (by Webster, LePlume, and Crane) which results in the three get banished. As a clock, Cogsworth is chubby, brown clock face with hands for mustache, glass door chest. As a human he is obese, curly brown toupee, mustachioed. Cogsworth is voiced by actor David Ogden Stiers.
