Notes

Supervising character animator Andreas Deja, one of Disney's "Nine New Men", who is best known for animating movie villains like Gaston, the local egotistical and male chauvinist hero from Beauty and the Beast (1991), the royal vizier Jafar who wanted to rule on high as sultan in Aladdin (1992), and Simba's uncle Scar who takes the throne in The Lion King (1994), requested the task of animating Adult Hercules, the hero.

The animators from The Walt Disney Studios spent 6 to 14 hours to render a frame of the Hydra, depending on how many heads it had.

Leaving aside the The Pastoral Symphony one of the eight segments of Fantasia (1940) movie, this was the first Disney animated feature to be completely inspired by mythology rather than a fairy tale.
