Look for the, Bear Necessities
The simple bear Necessitites,
Forget about your worries and your strife.
I mean the, Bear Necessities
Oh, Mother Nature's recipies that bring the Bear Necessities to life.
Where-ever I wander, where-ever I rome,
I couldn't be fonder, of my big home.
The bees are buzzin in the trees
To make some honey just for me.
When you look under the rocks and plants,
Take a glance at the fancy ants
And maybe try a few!
The Bear Necessities of life will come to you!
Look for the Bear Necessities,
The simple Bear Necessities,
Forget about your worries and your strife!
I mean the Bear Necessities,
It's why a bear can rest-at-ease
With just the Bear Necessities of life!
Now when you pick a raw paw, or prickly pear.
And you pick a raw paw, next time beware.
Don't pick the prickly pear by paw
When you try to pick, try to use the claw.
But you don't need to use the claw
When you pick-a-pear from the big paw paw.
Have I given you a clue?
The Bear Necessities of life will come to you
They'll come to you.
NotesThe song is included in The Jungle Book Movie Songs
In 1968, the song was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
In The Jungle Book 2 (2003), Baloo (John Goodman) is first seen singing "The Bare Necessities" while creating a "dummy" of Mowgli, using a coconut and a banana peel, to sing with him, only to sadly realize that Mowgli is no longer around. Mowgli (Haley Joel Osment) and Baloo sing the song together after Baloo takes him out the village. At the end of the movie, Mowgli, Shanti (Mae Whitman), and Baloo sing a reprise of the song.
